Bendis To Leave Marvel For DC

When it comes to Marvel, there's no one writer who has had as much of an impact since Stan Lee joined forces with the likes of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko to breath new life into the industry in the 1960s, than Brian Michael Bendis.

DC announced the deal on Twitter. It is within the span of Ultimate Spider-Man's run that Bendis is credited with the creation of Miles Morales. I am bursting with ideas and inspirations.

After the ending of Ultimate Spider-Man in 2011, the brand was relaunched in September that year as Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man.

Brian Michael Bendis has always been among the chief writers at Marvel Comics having created some of the most popular 21st century characters, including Jessica Jones, Miles Morales the Ultimate Spider-Man, and Riri Williams, aka Ironheart.

Bendis first began working with Marvel in 2000, and has made his mark on the company in a way few writers have. "Details to come! Stay tuned!" And which writers would you like to see take over for Bendis on his current comics?

Bendis, now of Portland, Ore., has been Marvel's top writer for more than a decade with stints on nearly every major series including "The Avengers", "Spider-Man", "Iron Man", "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Defenders" to name a few.

The five-time Eisner victor was instrumental in crafting Marvel's Ultimate Universe and has penned some of the most well-known story arcs of the modern age including Secret War, House of M, and Age of Ultron, just to name a few. No indication was given as to when he will depart those titles or when he will start work at DC. We wish him luck in his future endeavors and, like DC, can't wait to see what he can do with a fresh slate of characters.

The news that Bendis, who has critically-acclaimed stints on Daredevil, Spider-Man and Alias to his name, is leaving will no doubt be encouraging for DC fans.
