The Scottish actor James McAvoy posed for pictures with fans last night as Scotland's Bafta awards got under way in Glasgow.

Peter Mullan and Kate Dickie were named as best film actor and actress. The show itself also won best television drama.

A fourth series of Shetland, which is based on a series of novels by Ann Cleeves, will begin filming next year.

The X-Men star said that he was happy to be attending the ceremony as an award presenter rather than a nominee.

Rebecca O'Brien and Paul Laverty are to collect the Outstanding Contribution to Film Award for their production company Sixteen Films, while make-up artist Christine Cant is to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Craft Award.
