On Thursday, The Walking Dead's beloved star stopped by Conan to discuss Sunday's heartbreaking episode following his character's brutal murder, and Yeun revealed that he already snagged a fun new gig. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly though, Steven Yeun has implored fans not to blame Daryl, and absolved the character of blame.

The twist was that The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple and Kirkman made a decision to also kill off Abraham, which fans might not have seen coming.

But according to Kirkman, it has gotten harder and harder to kill off characters as he has gotten to know the actors who play them.

"It was kind of essential that that part of the scene at least remained intact, unfortunately".

Robert and Gimple did talk about other options, and saving Glenn's death for another time, The Wrap reports.

"That whole night took hours and we were just camping out in the makeup trailer looking super gnarly and we had to kill some time and make ourselves laugh because it was so sad", Yeun said, explaining the video. "Abraham died in the comic book before Cudlitz had ever been cast as Abraham".

"It'll be interesting to see what happens with that and I'm sure Norman will crush it".

However, they concluded that it had to be Glenn.

By the middle of Season 7, it will make sense as to why Glenn had to go at this point in the storyline, and they will understand he served his objective on The Walking Dead.

"I just push through it and stay the course, but I do find myself very hesitant to do character deaths on the show", he said. That likely comes as small solace to the legion of Glenn fans, who will just have to make peace with the idea that his death was to serve the overall good of the show.
