British Columbia's public safety minister has stepped in to reassure residents after several reports of targeted violence and deaths connected to gang activity across Metro Vancouver.

Is a dismembered body dumped Wednesday in Langley linked to a gang feud?

Though police believe Clary has gang associations, IHIT said it's too early to link his murder to heightened tensions between Metro Vancouver gangsters.

Morris said he understands and shares the public's concerns about violence, but assured that anti-gang units "have their targets set on these known gang members and their associates".

In that case, 27-year-old Jason Wallace was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the homicide of Robert Green on October 16.On the same day as Green's death, another shooting happened when a male victim was shot in the leg near the Greater Vancouver Zoo just after 7 p.m.He was found at the nearby McDonald's in the 26400-block of 56 Avenue.

"We are in the early stages of the investigation and can not confirm if Mr. Clary's homicide is linked to other homicides, or other recent cases of violence". "We know and we have seen incidents like this flare up in communities not just in the Lower Mainland but around the province and we're working very closely with police partners, the police of jurisdiction, not only to identify individuals who may be involved, but to mitigate further incidents". Meghan Foster of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in the statement.

Mounties said a lone occupant in a vehicle was unhurt in what was a targeted incident.

Police were called around 7am Wednesday morning to a stretch of Robson Crescent near 243rd Street in Langley, where they discovered Clary's remains.

"The intended victim is known to police and is affiliated with an organized crime group", police said.

On Oct. 16, police in Langley said that a "well-established member" of the Hells Angels was murdered.

"Young people who are thinking a gang lifestyle is glamourous should pay attention to the violent outcomes we've been seeing lately".
