Authorities say at least three people have died as a result of a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 in Tucson.

Mehr, Arizona Department of Public Safety public information officer, said Abril Castillo, a 12-year-old girl and Tina Totty died following the crash.

Roberto Monge, of Tucson, failed to stop for traffic, ran into the back of Castillo's auto and caused a chain reaction that involved five other vehicles, according to Mehr.

The crash happened about 8 a.m. when a semi-truck driven by Roberto Monge, 33, of Tucson, was traveling west on I-10 in the outside lane of traffic and failed to stop for traffic backed up at the Ruthrauff Road exit, Mehr said Wednesday in a news release.

Rescue crews removed at least one motorist trapped in wreckage.
