Trump's body language during debate raises social media eyebrows

Hillary Clinton diverted away from questions about her emails by saying she is being targeted by Russian hackers who want Trump to be president.

"If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception", he said, repeating a vow he first made at the presidential debate September 26.

The GOP nominee had a few terse exchanges Sunday night with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and ABC News correspondent Martha Raddatz during the debate at Washington University in St. Louis. He was present physically but he didn't show up in time to make a strong first impression.

Here are key moments from the live televised debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House. In the middle of his answer, in which he said he would introduce more competition in insurance markets, Trump threw in an aside: "President Obama, by keeping those lines, the boundary lines around each state, it was nearly gone until just very toward the end of the passage of Obamacare, which, by the way, was a fraud". Now, however, Trump is in worse shape due to the release of a 2005 video in which Trump bragged about groping women and sexually assaulting them.

"She should be ashamed of herself", Trump declared.

Bill Clinton never faced any criminal charges in relation to the allegations, and a lawsuit over an alleged rape was dismissed.

A Muslim woman in the audience, made up of people who have not decided who they will vote for, brought up the topic of Islamophobia.

Clinton said it's clear to anyone who heard the video that it represents "exactly who he is".

Trump's response? "I absolutely used it, and so did Warren Buffet, and so did George Soros", he said, casting Clinton's wealthy supporters as complicit.

It's a odd time to be in St. Louis.

After that, the 90-minute debate descended into a bitter confrontation with each candidate pointing fingers at the other. The candidates refused to shake hands as they met on stage but they did at the end. Trump stood and paced throughout Clinton's answers, repeatedly interrupting her. He threatened Democrat Hillary Clinton with a special prosecutor, should he be elected.

A real estate developer making his first run at public office, Trump has made his battle against the establishment a central campaign theme. "She doesn't quit; she doesn't give up", Trump said. During the first presidential debate, Trump interrupted Clinton 51 times, whereas Clinton only interrupted Trump 17 times.

It was unclear whether Trump's performance did anything to expand his support beyond his core backers. Ivanka has emerged as the most competent spokesperson for Trump's campaign, and it wouldn't be totally shocking if she went on to have a career in politics after her father's political career implodes.

A source close to the campaign of Trump's vice presidential running mate, Mike Pence, dismissed talk among some political analysts the IN governor might bolt the ticket IN the uproar over Trump's comments.

Late Saturday, Trump seemed to adopt a new campaign strategy, a "what the hell do you have to lose" one.

Clinton noted that she had tried but had been hindered by a Republican president. Eight of those said they were withdrawing their endorsement as well.

Another question from the audience in the town hall forum: Can you be president for all? "That was a great display of presidential leadership".

The political firestorm that preceded the debate was sparked by a video obtained and released Friday by The Washington Post and NBC News. That's hia choice. When I hear his statements I'm reminded of what my friend Michelle Obama said. Pressed to reveal if he had done what he had claimed in the audio, such as kissing women without their consent and grabbing them in the crotch, Trump kept to the message - then segued to another message entirely, diverting to one about the Islamic State group, or ISIS. Bush has apologized for his role in the video. "Anything to avoid talking about your campaign and the way its exploding and the way Republicans are leaving you".

Trump's remarks drew widespread and bipartisan condemnation as un-American.

Trump criticized Clinton for not knowing who the rebels are.

Trump also generated almost twice as much debate conversation on Twitter than Clinton-64 to 36 percent, respectively.

Now, before tens of millions of Americans, both Trump and Clinton let their dislike, anger and bitterness toward one another spew out.
