Demi Lovato slams Taylor Swift for 'tearing down' Katy Perry

Welp! It's safe to say Demi Lovato will not be in Taylor Swift's "unrealistic" squad any time soon.

Demi is of course referring to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video, which is rumored to be about her long-standing feud with Perry.

Demi prefaced this comment by saying, "This will probably get me in trouble", but after her interview hit headlines on Tuesday (04Oct16) she remained defiant, tweeting, "I get asked questions".

She added, "I don't understand why people care so much about what I say in interviews?"

"I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that's not women's empowerment", Demi said. "And what they should be like, and it's not real". We all do things that aren't, but I have to ask myself, Am I content with calling myself a feminist? I think what you're getting at is there's just one type of body in that squad. Yes, because I speak out. "I needed to let go of that". "I think it's healthy to be able to start over with someone else", she says.

Taylor has also been off the radar lately due to the drama surrounding her breakup with Tom Hiddleston and fight with Kim K, so Demi's comments seem to come out of nowhere.

As expected, Taylor's fans were not happy with the interview.

. "I answer them. Sue me", Lovato tweeted in response to them. "I'm not afraid to talk about the fact that women get paid less than men in the United States and how unfair that is".

Back in February (16), Demi wrote on Twitter, "Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed", after Taylor gave Kesha $250,000 (£196,000) to help her pursue her sexual and emotional abuse claims against Dr. Luke.
