Hillary Clinton accuses Donald Trump of Treason

Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers each decimated Donald Trump on Monday for insinuating that Hillary Clinton led the movement that claimed President Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States.

This, according to people who have recently talked with the former secretary of state, is not lost on Clinton. "I have sat at that table in the Situation Room".

The "Late Night" host did what his network-mate Jimmy Fallon couldn't: took Donald Trump to task for his five-year birther crusade and half-assed, lie-filled admission.

Authorities arrested 28-year-old Ahmad Rahami on Monday in connection with a series of bombs planted in NY and New Jersey over the last three days.

"We can not let this evil continue", Trump said in Florida on Monday after the capture of a USA naturalized citizen of Afghan descent suspected of planting a series of bombs in NY and New Jersey over the weekend, and the stabbing of nine people in a separate attack in a Minnesota mall on Saturday in an attack claimed by ISIS.

Trump bemoaned that the alleged attacker, 28-year-old Ahmad Rahami, will receive medical treatment, "room service" and legal counsel.

The event will take place amid new national polls and surveys in swing states which show Clinton has seen a slide with millennial voters, particularly when Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are factored in. On the campaign trail, she frequently invokes her role in the 2011 raid that killed Osama bin Laden, describing to voters the tense atmosphere in the White House alongside President Barack Obama. Clinton was secretary of state when President Obama ordered a complete withdraw of American troops from Iraq. "These are enemies, these are combatants and we have to be tough, we have to be strong".

"She very much caused the problem", Trump said at the Florida rally, leaving his prepared remarks on the teleprompter.

In the most serious incident, a bomb went off in New York City's Chelsea neighbourhood on Saturday, injuring 29 people; an unexploded pressure-cooker bomb was found nearby. That was before authorities had publicly said so.

Clinton urged voters not to "get diverted and distracted by the kind of campaign rhetoric we hear from the other side".

In a separate development Monday, the nonpartisan Tax Foundation said Trump's tax plan may cost an additional $1.5 trillion.

"But all that's going to end on the 20th of January", Pence said. His campaign declined to say whether it came from a national security briefing. Her campaign acknowledges she needs to do more to get millennials on board.

Clinton, who started her remarks calling on the country to "remain vigilant" in the wake of the bombings in NY and New Jersey, also used the opportunity to contrast herself with her Republican opponent.

While she is set to make quick trips to Pennsylvania and Florida, along with meeting a handful of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Clinton will devote the lion's share of her time huddling with her debate team, gaming out how she will confront Trump next Monday night at Hofstra University.

Both hosts chastised Trump for implying that it was up to him to "finish" the birther movement by declaring that our Commander-in-Chief was born in the USA during a press conference at one of his hotels, half a decade after Obama released his full birth certificate.

Clinton, meanwhile, is still facing questions about her health and openness after a video caught her staggering after abruptly leaving a 9/11 ceremony.
