Gorillaz have teased a major announcement on social media.

The latest indication that the LP is nearing release comes courtesy of Gorillaz' new Instagram account, which - as Pitchfork notes - offers a career-spanning overview of the animated group's timeline.

Even more exciting, they've finally launched their Instagram account, building out a timeline that begins with their formal inception in 2000.

The very first image they shared on the photo-sharing app features the words, "NOV _ 2000", and directly links to the third published photo which has "_TOMORROW COMES TODAY The four track EP which first unleashed Murdoc, Noodle, Russel and 2D onto an unsuspecting world".

As fans eagerly await more information regarding their forthcoming album, Gorillaz have officially ushered in the next phase of the project by launching a new Instragram account and website.

The 48-year-old musician revealed that the album should be ready later in the year and he has been enjoying every moment back with his other group. I'm loving it and it's getting there.

Damon recently hinted that he might use songs Adele rejected on the new record.

De La Soul's Pos revealed the rap group's involvement in the sessions during an interview with the Guardian, saying their collaboration arose naturally out of the fact that they "love working" with Albarn.
